What does the Bible say about 20:24?
Do you have a new year’s resolution for the year 2024? How can chapter 20 verse 24 in the book Acts remind us of setting important priorities?
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. - Acts 20:24

AG Program - Monday’s Science Class
Our Monday AG program will resume in about three weeks. There will still be an after-school AG program on school days Monday - Wednesday, but our next Monday school day will be in Monday, January 22. Students will be outdoors doing a variety of things with Mr. Wyatt Johnson. Throughout the year, there may be a few rainy days. Boots and gloves are great things for working outdoors on Monday Science Days. Water bottles are great things to have outside too. Students are in class with Mr. Wyatt from 1:15-3:15. Here is a schedule of the days and classes:
Monday, January 22 - Grades 5&6
Monday, January 29 - Grades 3&4
Monday, February 5 -Grades K-2
A Reminder About the Month of January and “No School” Days
Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 3, classes will resume. In addition to this shorter week when school resumes, there are a few other “no school” days in January. The second week of January will also start on a Wednesday. There will be no school on Monday & Tuesday, January 8 & 9. Our school is part of a larger conference called the OR Conference of SDA. They are having two days of teacher in-service on those days. The following Monday, Jan. 15 will be Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Again, a “no school” day. So, in summary, here are the days with “NO SCHOOL” in January:
Monday & Tuesday, Jan. 1&2- NO SCHOOL
Monday & Tuesday, Jan. 8&9 - NO SCHOOL
Monday, Jan. 15 - NO SCHOOL
Weather & School Closings / Late Starts
There is the possibility of icy weather, frozen roads, or snow to impact school hours. Generally speaking, our winters are usually mild. Snow on the valley floor is unlikely. Your safety and your child’s safety is important to us. We have families that come from all over the I-5 corridor and road conditions can vary. As a general rule, we follow 4J weather-related school closures or late starts. We also follow Pleasant Hill School District school closures & late starts.
In the event of a weather or storm related late start or closure, we will send REMIND notices out to families by 6:30 am on school days. We also post to area school closure news outlets.
Updated Steam Room and HVAC Work Over Christmas Vacation
Even though students are missing and the halls are quiet at ECA during Christmas vacation, school is still a busy place. During our break, we had new A/C & Heating units installed in the upstairs classrooms, office area, and teacher workroom. We also had a remodel to our STEAM room. Thank you Tami Waterson, Ms. Ashley, and family for making our school a special place for students and making our STEAM program a fun place to learn!
Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:
The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.
We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.
These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.
In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
