Community Connection Week
Principal’s Message:
Hello ECA families,
Our seasons are wonderful reminders of the many blessings God provides throughout the whole year. Just like Spring follows a dormant Winter and brings a rebirth, Summer gives us the warming sun and growing sunlight to bring us the bountiful blessing that Fall offers. How many times have we seen God work in our lives in similar ways?
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

MAP Testing Completion
If your child was unable to complete a MAP test last week or missed one of the testing days, tomorrow and Tuesday we will be finishing tests from 11:00-12:30 with Mr. Gaylor. Please help us by packing a snack for the morning that can help your child have that extra boost if they need to make up a test.

Hot Lunch this Friday
Our Home & School is awesome! They are anxiously awaiting the time when our kitchen remodel will be completed. Until then, they have a plan in place to provide hot lunch on 1/2 day Fridays all year long. Please look at the attached photo explaining more details.

Fall Pie Fundraiser Followup
Here is a message from Home & School about our pie fundraiser:
Thank you to all of our students and families for your tremendous efforts to make our pie fundraiser super sweet! ECA students sold 287 pies/cobblers and together raised $1,840 for our PE department! Rylinn Wells was again unstoppable and sold 39 pies, following right behind on her heals though was Elijah Schilt with 32. Way to go both of you!! Mr. Gaylor is now preparing for the ultimate game of pie face... 41 pies are coming his way! We will be throwing pies this Friday from 12:00-12:30.
Remember to collect your pies on Tuesday, October 19th from 3:30-5:30pm.

1/2 Day Friday
Our 1/2 day Friday for the month will be this Friday. We will be having morning chapel beginning at 8:15. Students can arrive at school at 7:45-8:00. Older students will be picking up their younger “brothers and sisters” and then going down to chapel.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip for Grades K-4
This Friday, after chapel, students in grades K-4 will be hopping on the bus and going to Detering Orchards in Junction City. Masks will be required while students are on the bus and Detering Orchards may require masks be worn outside. We plan on leaving school by 9:15. We should arrive at the orchards in time for our tour to start at 10:00. We plan to return to school by 12:00 for hot lunch delivery and our “pie the principal” festivities. Note: There is a $5 fee per student that Detering Orchards charges. Volunteers have a $3 charge.
If you would like to volunteer, or just come out as a parent, please keep the charges in consideration. Make any payments necessary to Emerald Christian Academy and we will pay Detering Orchards.
Please call the office between 11:30-4:00 M-W to let us know if you are planning on coming with your child or contact your child’s teacher so we can plan payment for Detering Orchards. We will have enough room on our bus for students and staff, but we will not have enough room for volunteers with Covid spacing.

Staying Covid Safe
With classes and children back in session, it is important for us all to do our part to keep our campus clean and safe. Despite our best practices, students still may be exposed to the Covid virus in the community. Our school has access to the Oregon K-12 Screening Testing Program. This program provides screening to students. Click on the link below to find out more about how ECA can help your family if you find yourself in this situation.
Oregon K-12 Student Screening Testing Program FAQ
Our school can also provide diagnostic testing. Here is the link for more information.
