Fullness

Can’t you just have one more roll? Maybe one more slice of…? Just one more scoop of…? Surely there is room on your plate for… I bet you have heard these words in the past few days. Perhaps you have said them a time or two. Family gatherings, good food, and celebrations of thankfulness tend to fill us to the “full” level. What if we could have that fullness 365 days a year. I’m so thankful the time we spend with our heavenly father and his eternal family brings us a satisfaction that fulfills our needs and leaves us feeling abundant. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and have it in abundance - John 10:10.

Hot Lunch Program

You can now order lunches for each week by going to our school website. Hot lunch can be found under the Student Life dropdown. You can also click on the box below to go straight to the page. The November menu is up for the month.

Please place all orders for each week before Monday morning at 8:45. After two weeks of tweaking how the hot lunch program is going, we are simplifying the order process to just a Monday meal, Wednesday meal, and 1/2 Day Friday Meal. The salad bar is still a big part of our hot lunch program, but it is more of a side salad component.

  1. Simply type your child’s first & last name

  2. Select the option that fits the order for the week

  3. Click Submit.

Prices for meals:

students in grades K-2 - $5,

students in grades 3-8 - $6.

Just a reminder… our hot lunch menu is posted on our website:

AG Program - Monday’s Science Class

This year, every student will be able to participate in ECA’s Agriculture Program. This happens on the first day of each week. Students will be outdoors doing a variety of things with Mr. Wyatt Johnson. Throughout the year, there may be a few rainy days. Boots and gloves are great things for working outdoors on Monday Science Days. Water bottles are great things to have outside too. Students are in class with Mr. Wyatt from 1:15-3:15. Here is a schedule of the days and classes:

(Last week, Mr. Wyatt was sick on Monday, so we are repeating the AG class for the 3&4 grade class this week!)

Monday, November 27 - Grades 3&4

Monday, December 4 - Grades K-2

Monday, December 11 - Grades 7-8

ECA FREE Holiday Gift Program for our Students

One of our alumni high school students is operating a holiday gift “store” for her community service project this year. The neat thing - the store is FREE to all students at ECA. What’s the catch? This is where we need your help parents. If you have items in your closets, under your bed, in the attic, etc. that have been loved but are ready for a new home, you have the opportunity to bring these items to the school office where they will be organized in our “holiday store” for our ECA students. Students will be able to come to the store before vacation begins, select a gift for parents, grandparents, or siblings and the gifts will be wrapped at school, ready to be taken home, and saved for Christmas morning. If every family is able to contribute a few items that are taking up space and ready for a new home, this will be an exciting program for everyone. If you have any wrapping paper you would like to donate, that is appreciated too. Here are a few more details:

8th Grade Class Fundraiser - Sunday Afternoon Date Day for Parents

The 8th grade class has been looking for a way to support parents with a little free time as the Christmas season begins. They are planning a Sunday get-away for parents this coming Sunday, December 3. Here are more details:

ECA Spirit Week - Next Week

ECA is excited about our upcoming Spirit Week next week. Our ASB officers have been planning a fun week that will end with ECA’s annual trip to Target to purchase presents for children at Jasper Mountain Safe Center. Our school has been providing gifts for all of the children at this live-in facility for 10+ years. We are excited to carry on this tradition of giving this year. Look for more information to come home this week.

See’s Candy Fundraiser

The holiday season is coming upon us. If you would like to order a few extra sweets for upcoming family gatherings, our school is sponsoring a fundraiser. Last week, your child brought home an order envelope and explanation letter. These can be filled out and returned to the office. You may also order online (link below) and receive your order in the mail, which works especially well for friends or family who are not local. The online shop does have more options, so if you don't see what you're looking for, make sure to check it out! Please complete your orders and return (if applicable) by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27. This fundraiser is supporting our Worthy Student Fund and playground updates, so thank you in advance for your contributions!

Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
