A Symbol of Honor
At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.
What does the flag mean to you? What about to our veterans?
PBS provides us with some important details about our country, our flag, and the people that defend the flag and country - our veterans.

As a school and country, it is only fitting we take time to say thank you to the many men and women who actively serve and who have served in the past. ECA, its staff, students, and families thank you. And to the veterans in our school community and greater community, thank you again for your service. Our national flag greets our school families as we arrive at school each day. It is a symbol that is timeless and reminds us of a greater symbol.
Our veterans serve our country every day. As Christians, who can we serve? Does the Bible tell us about service? Are there any symbols Jesus reminds us of as his followers?
“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” - Matthew 16:24
SBL - Is SBL just the newest phase?
Is standards-based learning just another initiative? A lot of prayer and thought goes into decisions about conference initiatives and a large part of that is how a new initiative builds on and interacts with other learnings. There is a multitude of research that supports teaching and grading with standards as a way to focus learning by chal-lenging “students to think deeper and work towards more meaningful applications” (Townsley & Buckmiller, Ph.D. 2016). That is what Adventist education is about. The book Education tells us “Every human being, created in the image of God is endowed with a power akin to that of the creator– individuality, power to think and to do... It is the work of true education to develop this power, to train young people to be thinkers, and not mere reflectors of other people’s thoughts.” The North American Division Office of Education has committed to training and supporting teachers, conferences, and unions in standards-based learning
Limited School Office Hours this Week
This week, there will be limited coverage in our office. Cali will be out all week. Therefore, there will be no one in the office in the morning hours. From 12:00-2:00 there will be office staff. Normal office hours will resume next week. If you need help during the morning hours, you can leave a message and the office will return messages from 12:00 - 2:00. There is also a doorbell you can ring and staff will come to the front door to help you. Just give us a couple minutes to get there please.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.
These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.
In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
