Another Way to Share God’s Love

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

Students in grades 3-8 will be hosting the Eugene SDA Church Program in 3 Weeks!

We are incredibly blessed to have the support of several community SDA churches. Together, the churches provide our school with close to 1/4 of our operating budget. What does that mean for you? It helps to keep tuition costs down and still maintain a vibrant and strong curriculum and school program. As a school, we thank our churches by sharing music programs at local churches. This year, we presented a Christmas program at the Pleasant Hill SDA Church and the school gave the church sermon at the Springfield SDA Church. Our final opportunity to share our children’s talents will be on Saturday, May 3. Here are the details:

Who is participating? The children’s choir from grades 3-6, students in grades 7&8 to share mission trip highlights and sermonettes.

Where is the church? 1275 Polk St Eugene, OR 97402-3959

When do we need to be there? Students should plan to be there at 10:30.

Why is this important? Our students in grades 7&8 just came back from a mission trip. Not only did they do physical work at a marine station after storm damage, but we put on the church program for the nearby SDA church in Fort Bragg, CA. Students in grades 3-6, along with students in grades 7&8 can continue to grow in their faith as they share God’s love with our community.

What if I have questions? You can call the school office, or leave an email for administration and we will get back to you.

When will I know more details? A paper handout will go home this week with additional details.

P/T Conferences are happening in two weeks! Sign up now.

Every fall and spring, we schedule time for parents and teachers to get together for conferences. These spring meetings will be next week. Because we are needing to schedule time for all of our familes in two days, Thursday, April 24 will be a 1/2 day. School will be let out at 12:30. We will NOT be having an afterschool program on that day. P/T conferences will then begin at 2:00 and go into the evening. Conferences will resume the next day, Friday. If either of these days do not work for you, please contact your homeroom teacher to schedule a time. Students in grades K-2 will have conferences with Mrs. Walter. Ms. Waterson will help with K-2 conferences as needed. Students in grades 3&4 will have individual conferences with Mrs. Harness. Students in grades 5-8 have combined conferences with both Mr. Gaylor & Ms. Lidia.

The best way to sign up for a time is to click on the box below. You will be taken to a shared Google document where you can put in your family last name for a desired time. Here are the times you can sign up for:

Note: K-2 has a slightly different conference schedule.

FINAL REMINDER to Register Now for Next Year with a Discounted Family Rate EXTENDED until this Wednesday.

One of the things that happens at school behind the scenes during spring is making a budget for the upcoming school year. Because we are part of a large conference with many schools, we have to vote on school budgets by the end of the year. Staff contracts and program obligations are set in the spring for the upcoming year. What does this mean for you? Every school in the Oregon Conference has a reenrollment period. During this time, schools ask families to pay a reenrollment fee to reserve their spot for the upcoming year. This year’s deadline to reserve a spot at a discounted family fee of $50 is has been extended until this Wednesday, April 16. This week, I will meet with our school board and we need to have firm enrollment numbers for a presented budget on April 17. Families that reenroll after April 16 will be charged a family reenrollment fee of $150. Plan now. You can let us know your plans for next year by clicking on the link below and reserving your spot for next year. Payment details are included in the link.

No School TOMORROW, Monday, April 14

Makeup day of Friday, April 18

Throughout this year, our teachers have had professional growth days to improve the quality of education at ECA. Tomorrow, Monday, April 14, will be the last Monday (one per quarter) that teachers will be in classes and there will be no school. Just like the rest of the previous dates, we will make up the school day by having school on the immediate Friday that follows - April 18. It will be a 1/2 day core classes with a pickup at 12:30. There will not be an after-school AG program. There will be a burrito hot lunch sponsored by our home & school.

No AG Class this Week. It will be back next Monday

Students will be outdoors doing a variety of things with Mr. Wyatt Johnson. Throughout the year, there may be a few rainy days. Boots and gloves are great things for working outdoors on Monday Science Days. Water bottles are great things to have outside too. Here is a schedule of the days and classes:

Monday, April 14 - No AG Class - No School

Monday, April 21 - Grades K-2

Monday, April 28 - Grades 7&8

Hot Lunch Menu for the Month

Hot lunch happens every Monday and Wednesday. Additionally, whenever we have a “regular” 1/2 Friday, hot lunch will be offered by our Home & School. You can click on the link below to order hot lunch for the week for your child. If you have more than one child, please click the link more than once and turn in one week’s submission for each child. There is a payment option that is included in the form.

Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:

The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.

We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.

These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.

In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
