Looking Forward to Spring Break

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

Principal’s Message:

Hello ECA families,

As a child, my parents always told me, “The older you get, the faster the years go by.” With both of my girls in college now, I certainly understand what they meant.

It’s hard to believe that Spring Break is only one week away. I am excited to start a new season and excited that our school can move forward as a school family.

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1

Covid, Masks, and Looking Ahead

ECA family, together we have gone through the ups and downs of Covid over the past two years. Beginning tomorrow, on March 13, masks will be optional for staff, parents, volunteers, and students. For a more comprehensive look at our school’s Covid policy for the remainder of the year, please click on the link below:

ECA Visitation Day

ECA will be having our 2022 Visitation Day on Friday, April 1. We are proud of our school family and excited to share the good news about our school and how we can serve families in our community. You can help us by posting school activities and events your child is involved in. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other resources are all ways we can share the good things that are happening at our school.

This will be an additional 1/2 day Friday. The difference will be that each student will move up for the day into the next classroom. Eighth grade students will be working with teachers and students throughout the day. Home and School is planning a haystacks hot lunch for that day. There is a $5 hot lunch fee for students interested in having hot lunch for the day. You can call ahead to the office to order hot lunch.

We have had several families already visit our school interested in joining next year. We will be sending these families an invitation. We are also sharing a powerpoint with local constituent churches that gives more information about the 8-12:45 visitation day.

We are asking for new, visiting families to call the school to register so we can plan for the day. If you have friends or families that have asked about ECA, this is a great way for new families to learn more about our school. You can have them call our school at 541-746-1708 to register for the visitation day.

Online School Survey

Last week, ECA sent out a survey link. If you have not already responded to to the survey, please take about 3-4 minutes and thank you for giving us feedback on how things are going well, and how we can continue to grow. If you need me to resend the link, please send me a request at principal@emeraldchristianacademy.com.

Preregistration for Next Year

Our school has opened Teacher Ease for registering for next year. ECA families will be receiving a link this week to register for next year. The process is quick and will be the first step in reenrolling your child for next year.

Each year, ECA needs to have firm numbers to create a school budget for the next year. Our school is part of a larger organization of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists. There are over 30 schools in Oregon that are in this organization. Right now, they are all doing the same thing: planning for next year. ECA is following the same reenrollment procedures as our “sister” schools.

1st step - Click on the personalized link to reenroll through your Teacher Ease account.

2nd Step - Send ECA a reenrollment fee based on the following date deadlines:

Reenroll before April 20 - $50 fee/family

Reenroll after April 20 - $150 fee/family

3rd Step - Finalize registration with family finance plans and payment of registration fees. (This is the last step and is separate from the reenrollment fee. This can be done any time after steps 1 & 2 have been completed.

Swimming Lessons for Grades K-4

Students in grades K-4 will be having swimming lessons at Willamalane Swim Center across from McKenzie Willamette Hospital on Mohawk Boulevard in Springfield, Oregon.

This will happen during the two weeks immediately after Spring Break, March 28-31 and April 4-7. There is no additional charge for this. Part of your child’s registration fees covers this cost. Students will be leaving school each day at 1:20 by school bus and returning around 3:45. Parents, if you would like to attend the swimming lessons to watch your child, you are welcome. You are also welcome to pick up your child at the pool to save many of you a trip out to school. Swimming lessons go from 2:00-3:00.
