Thankfulness and Celebrations

At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.

Principal’s Message:

Hello ECA families,

As children grow up, we help them develop good manners. We teach them to say “Thank you” and “I’m sorry” among other things. I’m struck by the irony that as adults, we often forget our manners when it comes to having a thankful heart when dealing with our heavenly father.

The more children practice their manners, the easier it gets. Isn’t that the same for us. I pray that as we come out of a difficult time with Covid, hardships, and uncertainties, we can develop that thankful heart. We have so much to celebrate for God is good!

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds..” - Psalm 9:1

ECA Lawn Signs

As a staff, we take a lot of pride in our school family and the connections we have with each of you. We will be receiving lawn signs this week that shares more information about our school. As a staff, we are excited to put these in our lawns and show our school pride. I hope each one of you will consider sharing your pride in our school too.

ECA Visitation Day

ECA will be having our 2022 Visitation Day on Friday, April 8. We are proud of our school family and excited to share the good news about our school and how we can serve families in our community. You can help us by posting school activities and events your child is involved in. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other resources are all ways we can share the good things that are happening at our school.

This will be an additional 1/2 day Friday. The difference will be that each student will move up for the day into the next classroom. Eighth grade students will be working with teachers and students throughout the day. Home and School is planning a haystacks hot lunch for that day. There is a $5 hot lunch fee for students interested in having hot lunch for the day. You can call ahead to the office to order hot lunch.

Interested families can register for the day by calling the office ore following visitation day link on our school’s website.

Preregistration for Next Year

Our school has opened Teacher Ease for registering for next year. You should have already received a link to start the short process.

Each year, ECA needs to have firm numbers to create a school budget for the next year. Our school is part of a larger organization of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists. There are over 30 schools in Oregon that are in this organization. Right now, they are all doing the same thing: planning for next year. ECA is following the same reenrollment procedures as our “sister” schools.

1st step - Click on the personalized link to reenroll through your Teacher Ease account.

2nd Step - Send ECA a reenrollment fee based on the following date deadlines:

Reenroll before April 20 - $50 fee/family

Reenroll after April 20 - $150 fee/family

3rd Step - Finalize registration with family finance plans and payment of registration fees. (This is the last step and is separate from the reenrollment fee. This can be done any time after steps 1 & 2 have been completed.

Swimming Lessons for Grades K-4

Students in grades K-4 will be having swimming lessons at Willamalane Swim Center across from McKenzie Willamette Hospital on Mohawk Boulevard in Springfield, Oregon.

This will happen during the two weeks immediately after Spring Break, March 28-31 and April 4-7. There is no additional charge for this. Part of your child’s registration fees covers this cost. Students will be leaving school each day at 1:20 by school bus and returning around 3:45. Parents, if you would like to attend the swimming lessons to watch your child, you are welcome. You are also welcome to pick up your child at the pool to save many of you a trip out to school. Swimming lessons go from 2:00-3:00.

Dealing With Depression - Some Resources for Your Family

Recently, Lane County Health Authority sent information about the high incidence of depression and suicide in our community. Surprisingly, as we come out of Covid, studies have shown there is an increased risk. As a school, we care about your family and want to provide you with information and resources.
