Celebrating Our School Year
At ECA, our vision is that school families Love God, Value Learning, and Serve Others.
Principal’s Message:
Doesn’t it feel good to know success? Doesn’t it feel good to know you have been part of something special? Doesn’t it feel good to celebrate the joy of another school year?
For many students, staff, and ECA families, we will be asking that question this week. As we go into our last week of school, we recognize those special moments that made this year memorable. Each student and family has contributed something unique that has made this particular chapter in our school’s history extra special. Thank you ECA families for helping to share God’s love with our community. “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 15:13
ECA Jog-a-thon Results
Thank you families for helping our school with our last fundraiser for the year. We are still collecting the final donations, but we are excited to plan for improvements to our playground. If you are still needing to turn in donations, those can be turned in during this last week of school at the front office. If you would still like to make a donation, it can be done by clicking on the link below.
ECA Spring Music Program - Thanks Mr. Roca
Thank you again Mr. Roca for a wonderful year of music. We were so blessed by our Spring Music Program and all the hard work our students put into the evening.
AR Party
Congratulations to all our our students for a successful year of reading. We celebrated hours and hours of reading with an AR party last week. Thank you parent volunteers for helping our morning fun happen at ECA. Thank you to to the Cardoza family and Cottage Bowl in Cottage Grove for donating their facility for our students in the afternoon who made their yearly reading goals. The Cottage Bowl is operated by a former alumni of our school.
Kindergarten Recognition / Graduation Day
Our Kindergarten class started the 2022 celebration early with Kindergarten Recognition Day last Thursday. Congratulations Kindergarten class and thank you for making our school a special place.

Our Final Week of School - Things to Remember
There are a few things to remember as we go into our last week of school.
If your child has any library books at home, please return them to school to avoid any book charges.
8th grade graduation will be happening this Thursday, June 9 at 7:00 at the Pleasant Hill SDA Church. Students in grades 7&8 should arrive 30 minutes early. Look for more information from Ms. Sobor this week.
Our last day of school will be this Friday from 8:00-12:30. We will be having an all-school awards chapel starting at 8:30. Parents are welcome to attend to celebrate our last day with awards. This year, ECA will hand out close to $7,500 in awards to returning students. Additionally, there will be Track & Field Day, Accelerated Reading, and classroom awards. Students will spend the remaining school day in their homerooms celebrating a fun year and making final memories.
Reaching Our School During the Summer Months / Summer Events
If you are still needing to make arrangement for next year, or would like to reach the school for other reasons, we can be reached throughout the summer. We will be posting summer hours on our website once those hours have been finalized. You can always reach the school by sending an email to office@emeraldchristianacademy.com or principal@emeraldchristianacademy.com.
Also, if you are looking for fun activities for the summer, keep ECA in mind. ECA will be home to the Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Association Workshop in July. It is my understanding that they have a music program during one evening. As more information is learned, we will share it on our school’s Facebook site.
A shoutout to an ECA family: Dan Tanner is planning an exciting fireworks show here in Pleasant Hill this 4th of July. The event will be happening at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. This is a wonderful community event and the firework show is amazing! Also, if you are looking for a Vacation Bible School Program this summer, ECA will be home to the Springfield SDA Church’s VBS the first week of August. Again, look up additional information throughout the summer on our school Facebook page.
Christian Counseling Available - Free Resources:
The NAD (North American Division of SDA) has recently shared new resources for children and teens that offer a safe and anonymous place to talk or text. Here is a news release from the NAD.
We’re excited to announce the launch of www.aruggedjourney.org our newest NAD site providing free online mentoring for guys. A Rugged Journey joins www.gorgeous2god.org (for young women) which has grown in its scope and ministry since its beginning in 2017.
These sites, along with their counterparts on social media, provide free help to our teens/young adults in a space they can ask questions without judgment or fear. The questions are answered by a team of dedicated Seventh-day Adventists at AIM on the campus of Andrews University.
In addition to the confidential Q & A, positive content is provided through videos, posts, etc.
