Connecting to our Community

Principal’s Message:

Hello ECA families,

It was so nice to see everyone again as we started our new year this past Thursday at our Back-to-School Night. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your homeroom teacher for more information about how to stay connected.

We had our first 1/2 day Friday. It was a special time as we connected as a school group in the gym. Keeping Covid 19 measures in place, we spaced ourselves out, sang songs together, and discovered our who our big brother & big sisters were in our school community outreach program.

As a school, we are adopting 7 of the constituent churches in the local area. Our student body has been divided into K-8 groups of students that will be working this year in special ways to outreach to our community. Mrs. McNulty and her group is partnering with the Eugene and Fall Creek SDA Churches. Mrs. Hager and her group is partnering with Springfield and Springfield Spanish SDA Churches. Mr. Gaylor and his group is partnering with Pleasant Hill and Eugene Korean SDA Churches. Mrs. Thorp is partnering with the Storyline Church.

We spent time making “Welcome back to the 2022 school year packets” for our churches. We also had a fun time safely working together and finding out more about our school siblings. Our next 1/2 day Friday will be on October 15, 2021.

Beginning next week, ECA will be having our annual Fall fundraiser. We are working with the Willamette Valley Pie Company to order pies for the coming holidays. Attached, you will find three documents that explain more about the program. Here are the highlights, but please look at the two attachments for more details.

  • Our pie Fall fundraiser will be for the next two weeks. Thank you Home & School for organizing this fundraiser.

  • Proceeds for this year’s pie fundraiser will go towards our PE department. Our PE program, PE staff, and PE supplies are supported by your generous support.

  • All orders need to be received by September 29, 2021.

  • Please drop your orders and payment for pies at the school office when you come to pick up your child in the afternoon.

  • All pies will be delivered in the afternoon of October 19, 2021. These homemade pies will be delivered frozen, but need to be picked up. Our school does not have the freezer space to store the delivered pies.
