Falling into a New Season
Principal’s Message:
Hello ECA families,
How many times have we heard of showers of blessings? This weekend of refreshing rain reminds me just how much we need God in our lives. How many times do we feel dry and in the state of drought? I have witnessed God sending our school and families blessings so many times in the past, it is a refreshing reminder that God has plans for us. We just need to trust in him!

Ga Ga Ball seems to be a hit for most of our classrooms this year. Thank you again Jeff Hendricksen, family, and volunteers for all your hard work. Our new courtyard looks beautiful, but it is very hard on the knuckles. Parents, please consider sending gloves for your child to play the game. We have had many scraped knuckles, and a good pair of gloves will keep children’s hands safe. Gloves can be kept at school and ready to go for recess.

Our campus goes quite a bit into our backwoods. Thank you Dr. Larry Jackson for blazing a running trail through our woods. As Fall begins, we will continue with our campus beautification projects: storage barn, aluminum fascia, and gutters.

Look for more information coming next week about our annual ECA Fall Festival. Our Fall Festival will be focused on local school families this year. With Covid 19 having an impact on communities, we are working with our great Home & School leaders to plan a safe and fun event on Sunday, October 3 from 11:00-2:00. Plan now for a fun ECA tradition.

We are in the middle of our Fall fundraiser. We are working with the Willamette Valley Pie Company to order pies for the coming holidays. If you have not had a chance to look at the information about the Willamette Valley Pie Company, I have attached a link to the three documents that explain more about the program. Here are the highlights, but please look at the three attachments for more details.
Our pie Fall fundraiser will be for one more week. Thank you Home & School for organizing this fundraiser.
Proceeds for this year’s pie fundraiser will go towards our PE department. Our PE program, PE staff, and PE supplies are supported by your generous support.
All orders need to be received by September 29, 2021.
Please drop your orders and payment for pies at the school office when you come to pick up your child in the afternoon.
All pies will be delivered in the afternoon of October 19, 2021. These homemade pies will be delivered frozen, but need to be picked up. Our school does not have the freezer space to store the delivered pies.
Click on the links below for the three documents for ordering information and prices.

Students in grades 5-8 will be leaving school on Wednesday for ECA’s annual Beach Trip. We will be leaving at 8:30 and spending the day in Florence and at Honeyman State Park. We should be back at school by 5:30. I will be driving the bus for this outing so grades 3-4 will be having a guest teacher for the day.
Students in grades K-4 will be staying at school for the day. Their next field trip will be in October to Detering Orchards in Junction City.
Most parents have already signed a release for field trips in their SchoolEase Parent Portal. Parents, please check your emails for a Remind Announcement from Ms. Sobor or Mrs. Thorp if you have more questions about the trip. Thank you for sending your $5 field trip fee per child to cover trip expenses.

Thank you for calling the school the previous week to let the office know which days your child will be attending after-school. If you have not already called to let us know about this week, please call the office after 11:30 so teachers can plan.
This week:
Monday - Photography / Yearbook
Tuesday - Lego Robotics
Wednesday - Library Hour
Thursday - Outdoor Activities
