RoadRunner Review: Showing Up for our Community

Principal’s Message:

We’ve had a few more rainy days this week. My kids have very different responses to rainy days. I have one that is all about cuddling up, drinking hot chocolate or tea and reading together. I have another one that yanks boots on and is ready to go attack the giant puddles outside!

I think it is very telling to see how they both approach a situation completely differently—and both reactions are totally ok!

I know that some of you are enjoying the slower days and extra family time together, some of you are busier than ever and have kicked it in to high gear getting things done, and some of you are experiencing some really big stresses that this quarantine situation has made even worse. Whatever you are doing right now to navigate this time and find support. I hope you find strength in knowing that God is so interested in the small and big things we are experiencing. I hope that we as representatives of Christ can show up for our community in BIG and small ways!

This week, you will have an opportunity to send in information about your kid’s friends, neighbors, cousins, or your co-workers kids so we can SHOW them in a tangible way that we are rooting for them! Send us names, ages, and contact info OR let us know how many craft packs you need so we can show some extra love to our community during this time!

Friday Chapel

We have had two Friday chapels since our last Roadrunner review. First, we had Pastor Moe Stiles from the Oasis Community Church in Vancouver, WA on April 17 talking to us about keeping our hands and hearts open to the adventures God has in store for us.

And April 24 we had Fernando Chavez, Together As One coordinator for the Oregon Conference of SDA’s talking about how we can try hard things and place our fears in a God that we can trust! It was really awesome to see him show us his volunteer work passing out food at a Foodbank that has been passing out 10,000 lbs of food a day!
