Principal’s Note

I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to put into words how amazing our Week of Prayer was this week with Fernando Chavez, community coordinator for the Oregon Conference of SDAs.

I think I will just leave you with pictures of our amazing week and lyrics to our theme song this week:

"Rise Up And Shine"

(Chorus)
We can all, we can all rise up and shine
'Cause You paid it all, paid it all a thousand times
We are all, we are all living our best life
'Cause You paid it all, paid it all a thousand times

You're never ever, ever gonna love me less
Even if I, even if I make a mess
Your love for me is evergreen, It will not change
I never ever, ever have to run away
Even if I, even if I make mistakes
You hold me close, You whisper hope Your love won't fade

CHORUS

Forever ever, ever You will show me grace
Even if I, even if I fall on my face
You pick me up out of the mud
And wash me clean
Forever ever, ever I will sing Your praise
Even on the, even on the darkest days
The greatest light is glowing bright On Calvary

CHORUS

'Cause you paid it all, paid it all a thousand times.

The ECA Community was so blessed to have Fernando Chavez lead out in Week of Prayer and share with our students about the life of David.

The week ended with an Agape Feast where we were reminded that we are all family and that we have each other's backs.

MEMORY VERSE FOR WEEK OF PRAYER

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” —Ephesians 2:10

We are delighted to celebrate Miss Douglas' marriage to Mr. Reed Bronson last week. Mrs. Bronson received a book of marriage advice from all the students and the whole school celebrated with delicious cupcakes from Mrs. Waterson.

ALUMNI
If you are an alumnus or KNOW an alumnus please send your contact information to alumni@emeraldchristianacademy.com. Contact info should include Name (Maiden Name also), email address, physical address, phone number, and what year you were in 8th and 10th grade.

Look for more details about our newly formed alumni association in the near future!

MARKETING/BRANDING
We have some changes coming in the near future in regards to our website, logo, and branding. We will have a photographer on campus on Monday and Tuesday taking photos. We will be mindful of families that have requested photos not be shared online and otherwise.

NATIONAL NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
We have the opportunity this month to learn more about the contributions and history of Indigenous/Native communities. As we approach Thanksgiving, it is interesting to note that in some Native communities Thanksgiving is honored as "A National Day of Mourning" in which they honor their ancestors that were killed as a result of colonial expansion.

How do we reconcile the reality of these two views of this day? This article provides an interesting perspective.
