Our 2nd Quarter Begins
Principal’s Message:
Hello ECA families,
Growing up, my grandparents always had a large garden. Surviving the lean years of the depression and living in the country, they knew how to get the most from their garden. Harvesting, canning, and garden-fresh vegetables were part of my childhood.
The 21st century has allowed me a few privileges my grandparents never were able to enjoy: grocery stores within a 5 minute drive, Costco memberships and microwaves make my life much easier. I tell you these things because when it comes to gardening, I haven’t always had the best success. My gardens are usually small with a small harvest, and the mystery of “just-the-right” soil has eluded me for years. If I put the time in to compost, check my soil pH, and take care of the soil, I’m sure I would be rewarded. Farmer’s markets and Albertsons are just too close, so I’ve never taken the time.
Isn’t that a bit how our relationship with God can become if we are not deliberate. As we enter a time where we see dormant plants waiting for the spring renewal, my hope is we all will be deliberate and tend to our spiritual soil daily.
“Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” - Romans 4:20-21

New Quarter
Our 2nd quarter begins this week. As teachers prepare for P/T conferences next week, you can help students get started with a successful plan.
Plan a regular time each evening to review studies or finish school work from the day. Small, daily, regular times will do a lot more than once-a-week cram sessions.
Find time to disconnect from media and electronics.
Schedule regular bed times that allow for the necessary sleep growing children need.
Plan meals with a variety different foods. Balance things with all the food groups prioritizing vegetables and minimizing sugar.
Make a balanced breakfast a priority every day.

Staying Covid Safe
With classes and children back in session, it is important for us all to do our part to keep our campus clean and safe. Despite our best practices, students still may be exposed to the Covid virus in the community. Our school has access to the Oregon K-12 Screening Testing Program. This program provides screening to students. Click on the link below to find out more about how ECA can help your family if you find yourself in this situation.
