Summer Time

Principal’s Message:

It feels quite bittersweet to be writing my last Principal’s message here. This last two years has been filled with blessings, challenges, opportunities for growth and amazing relationships. I am grateful for these years with all of you. I’m also indebted to the staff here at Emerald Christian Academy for their support and hard work, especially while trying to navigate Covid-19.

I want to take the time to say a special thank you to all the students here at ECA, you are truly all wonderful and I’m going to miss the kids the most!

A huge thank you to all of the parents who have stepped up over and over again—especially:
Home & School leaders, Renee Littman and Becky Johnson
Auction coordinator, Rita Fischer
8th grade parents—Littmans, Schilts, Ramans, and Clouses for all the work done for the 8th graders and over the years.
PK/K Recognition coordinators, Cali Dunks and Korina Kafton
I know there are many more of you that have stepped in so many times to create wonderful memories for the students here at ECA—you are so appreciated!

Finally, please do keep in touch! The Crawford family has decided to try something different and we will be traveling the USA in a travel trailer for the 2021-2022 school year. We are looking forward to this adventure.

Emerald Christian Academy with the leadership of Doug Gaylor will continue to be in my prayers as it continues to grow and be a welcoming spot in this community!

Announcements:

  • Our staff here at Emerald Christian Academy took some time thanking our ECA parents—here are a few of the messages:

    • Mr. Gaylor: Parents,

When one hears "It takes a village to raise a child," I think back to all of the support and encouragement you have shared with your child and our school this year. I really do want to thank all of you for your understanding and support as we have gone through this unusual year. Your commitment to Christian education and a relationship with Jesus that lasts an eternity has helped to make our 3rd& 4th grade classroom a safe place to learn. Your sacrifice of time, tears, and trials has not been forgotten or unnoticed.

The educational 3 Rs of reading, writing, and arithmetic may be ending for this school year very soon; however, the 3 Rs of life will continue long into your child's future. Relationships, responsibility, and a renewed sense of belonging to the Creator of our Universe is priceless. My prayer is that God will bless your family just as you have blessed our school by sharing your family with us this past year. Thank you again for helping to make the 2021 school year a success.

    • Mrs. Hager: Dear 1st and 2nd grade parents,

This year you did something you never expected to do! You became a classroom teacher to your child! Thank you for stepping into that role and supporting your child with online and regular school. Your child has accomplished so much in spite of the crazy school year and they have been blessed because of your dedication. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for partnering with me this year

    • Mrs. Thorp: One of my favorite quotes about growth is "From tiny seeds grow mighty trees."

I have been so blessed to be part of that journey for your students! My contribution to that growth pales in comparison to your whole-hearted devotion. The effort and continual sacrifices that you have made, this year especially, have been truly awesome. Thank you!

    • Mr. Crawford: I wanted to say thank you for the time that you have spent working with your kids; getting them to school and supporting them as I have asked a lot of them in many cases. Thank you also for your generosity as I was sorting out the best way to teach these kids. It has been a great experience and I will think of it fondly.
      Best wishes, Mr. Crawford

    • Miss Lidia: Dear ECA Families,

I want to express my gratitude to you for the incredible support you have shown for our STEAM Lab. Many of you have reached out and donated supplies, boxes, and other “treasures”, which have provided the students with many exciting projects. The students are already excited about next year, and I can’t wait to see where STEAM Lab will take us. We couldn’t have done it without you, a BIG THANK YOU! -Miss Lidia Sobòr.

    • Mrs. Racine: Dear parents, after a year, in which we have 'learned’ that some things are “non-essential,” YOU ARE essential to our school! You provide us with kids and pay for them to be here, and then – you support us in all possible ways! Thank you for your time and resources! Thank you for your hands that bring food, decorate for the events, and write encouraging notes. Thank you for your love!
      Olya Racine

    • Mrs. Rogers: I so appreciate each family's willingness to be flexible this school year and to support us teachers as we improvised new classroom arrangements, curricula, in-class activities, and projects. It was a wild ride!

  • ENROLLMENT

  • Few things we want you to know about Enrollment:

    • We are pushing for 65 students in our K-8 classes next year! Here’s how you can help us out—any family that you refer to ECA that completes the enrollment process will earn ONE learner in your family the opportunity to have their enrollment fee waived!
